Review: 'Cher: Strong Enough' by Josiah Howard

'Cher: Strong Enough' by Josiah HowardA review of new Cher biography 'Strong Enough' by Josiah Howard.

Despite it being named after her 1999 million-selling hit, paperback biography 'Cher: Strong Enough' almost-exclusively focuses on the era of Cher's self-titled CBS variety show. The daring TV show ran from 1975-1976, and so the book, with its 250+ pages, goes into great detail about this largely-undocumented time of Cher's life. And it doesn't just cover Cher's professional life of that time but also her personal life.

'Q Magazine' Interview: Cher's 10 Commandments

Cher, 2013Cher revealed her "golden rules for life" to Q Magazine for their regular "10 commandments" column in this month's issue...

MY TEN COMMANDMENTS

1.  THOU SHALT NOT LEAK
Some a**hole in a cave some place leaked "The Greatest Thing", a song Lady Gaga and I recorded for my new album, and that was just sh*tty.  Like, if you copy a DVD there's a huge fine, and they keep going after people and keep busting them.  Artists should get together, go to Congress and make it illegal.

Track-By-Track Review: Cher's New Album 'Closer To The Truth'

CherFans grew impatient during the 12-year gap between her last studio album and her new one, Closer To The Truth, but they, and reviewers, have been mightily impressed with Cher's impeccable new album. Here's Cher News' verdict on the 11-track collection:

1 Woman's World
Prior to Closer To The Truth, Cher had not released an album since 2001's Living Proof. So what better way to say "I'm back" than this in-your-face tune with its shouty chorus (much like P!nk's So What?) and catchy, repetitive lyrics. Had the song not been leaked in November 2012 (damn you, leakers!) the single wouldn't have lost its punch by its June 2013 release and would have been a much bigger hit than it was.

Fan Questions Answered! Cher Sick Of Being Asked "Do You Believe In Life After Love?"

Superstar Cher stopped by social networking site Reddit to answer a wide range of questions from her legions of fans:

Q: What's your favorite Bette Davis movie? Are you a fan of hers?

A: I'd have to turn in my gay icon card if I wasn't a huge fan of hers. I just watched the night before last 'Now, Voyager'. I can't remember the name of it but I like the one when her husband was an anti-fascist, and they came to America. She doesn't have a huge part in it, and as I understand it, she did it as a favor to the actor who starred in the film with her because he had done the part on Broadway - because no one knew him, the only way he could star in it was if she did the film. But I loved it. I love the shooting scene in 'The Letter'.

Cher Answers Fans Questions In 'iTunes Music' Live Twitter Chat

Cher'iTunes Music' held a live Twitter chat with musician Cher, which consisted of Cher answering questions from fans - largely about her new album 'Closer To The Truth' - who'd used hashtag #AskCher:

Q: The sequencing of the album is unusual. Can you explain what your intent was?
A: I don't like albums where there is a slow song next to a fast one. What I was trying to do was create a mood by keeping all the fast songs together, and gently going down to the sadder, slower songs. I started to slow down and change the feeling with 'I Walk Alone' and they all got slower from 'I Walk Alone' through 'Lie To Me'.

Q: What got you back in the recording studio?
A: One of my managers beat me into the studio.

2.Meryl Streep and I saved a girl from a large mugger in New York City
