The Beat Goes On For The Wrecking Crew Documentary

Cher at the Gold Star Recording StudiosWith a little financial help, 2008 documentary 'The Wrecking Crew', which features Cher, may see a release in the near-future!

The Wrecking Crew, a group of elite but largely anonymous session musicians in Los Angeles during the 1960's, were responsible for some of the biggest hits during the decade. They worked with the likes of The Beach Boys, The Monkees, The Mamas & The Papas and of course, our favourite duo Sonny & Cher.

To gain the 'crew' some belated public recognition, Denny Tedesco, a son of one of the most prolific of those session players, spent more than 15 years making a 95-minute documentary film about the ensemble.

Allman and Woman's First Date

Cher and Gregg Allman during happier times
"Rolling Stone' has released an exerpt from Gregg Allman's new memoir which details his first date with Cher.

Cher's tumultuous relationship with rocker Gregg Allman in the mid-1970's unsurprisingly didn't start off too well. In his new autobiography, 'My Cross to Bear', Allman reveals details about his first (terrible) date with the iconic songstress. Luckily, 'Rolling Stone' has managed to get hold of, and share with us all, this exclusive preview:

She smelled like I would imagine a mermaid would smell – I've never smelled it since, and I'll never forget it. It was January 1975, and I was playing a solo show at the Troubadour in Los Angeles. After the show, my buddy Chank ran up to me, going, "Guess who's here?"

Cher News Catch-up III: Cher's New "Hardcore Dance" Album

Cher in 2012Over a series of tweets, Cher has been releasing snippets of information about her new "hardcore dance" album.

Whilst hoping for a summer release - as Cher once revealed it to be - it seems that we may have to wait until Christmas (we've heard this before!) to get hold of Cher's new album. On social networking site Twitter, Cher wrote, "I've been in studio - am far behind but I really love my songs! I think you will like/love them too! I hope CD's out by Christmas?"

One impatient fan immediately replied, "What? Only Christmas?" And the tour?". Cher quipped, "Okay, I will tour! I will put out a CD! We're friends! cut me a little slack please."

Cher is "upset" and trying to get to the bottom of why a 'key to the city' of Adelaide she was given in 1990 ended up on eBay and sold for nearly US $95,900.00.

The oversized brass key, an engraved plaque, and the item's original box complete with a handwritten sticky note labelled "Mementos" was placed on the Internet auction house and now officials in the southern Australian city have deemed themselves offended, with Adelaide mayor Stephen Yarwood saying he was "exceptionally disappointed."
