Cher's Latest Album Logs Its 24th Week On The Billboard 200

CherCher's latest studio album 'Closer To The Truth' returns to the Billboard 200 this week, at #70.

The album debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 back in September 2013 to become Cher's highest-ever solo peak position on that chart and went on to spend a total of ten weeks inside the chart's Top 40.

After six weeks of absence from the Billboard 200, which showcases the United State's top-selling albums every week, 'Closer To The Truth' has jumped 130 positions over the chart's last position to re-enter at #70 this week. The re-entry sees the album log its 24th week on the all-important album chart.

Some of the predominantly-dance-pop album's Billboard 200 success comes from the promotion of having an optional chart-eligible CD copy of the album included with online tickets for the first leg of Cher's 'Dressed To Kill Tour'.

The album's first single, 'Woman's World', reached #1 on Billboard's Dance Club Songs chart whilst another two of it tracks, 'Take It Like A Man' and 'I Walk Alone', have peaked at #2 on the same chart. Ballad 'I Hope you Find It' spent 15 weeks inside the Top 20 of Billboard's radio-based Adult Contemporary chart.

The album has sold around 345,000 units in the United States so far, whilst its total worldwide sales figure is at over half-a-million.

  1. Great News Daniel. Such a pity WBR has not kept that promo linking tour tickets to a free copy of CTTT. That was a great way to move CTTT albums and it worked. If they had continued that with her Sept dates and beyond CTTT would sell sell sell all through the rest of 2014.

  3. It climbed the chart it's because Warner Bros gave the free copy of CTTT to people who buy the D2K Tour ticket. It's clever. And It worked. But there's no gain to Cher. Cher just wanted her Crew to listen to this amazing album. I wish the album climb the charts with natural ways. But it's good to see CTTT on the charts anyway.
