Pat Benatar and her husband of 35 years Nick Giraldo will join Cher as special guests for the first 13 dates of her upcoming Dressed To Kill Tour. Taking the place of Giraldo and the 'We Belong' singer will be fellow fiery songstress Cyndi lauper, who will perform on the following 36 dates of the tour.
Lauper's announcement was made late last night on 'Watch What Happens Live' and was followed up by tweets from both Lauper and Cher. The 'Girls Just Want To Have Fun' singer - who toured with Cher on both of her last two tours - wrote, "I'm going out on tour with my sistah Cher again. Will be fun. Really special last time. Excited to sing for all of you again. Xx Cyn".
Simultaneously, Cher tweeted, "I've got some exciting news! Cyndi Lauper will be joining me as my special guest on my #DTK our starting in Buffalo, New York on April 23rd. I'm so thrilled to be working with Cyndi again... She's an incredible artist and she's adorable."
Shortly afterwards, Cher - who covered Benatar's 'Love Is A Battlefield' on her 1992 'Love Hurts Tour' and then again during her 2008-2011 residency at Caesars Palace - tweeted, "Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo will be performing as my special guests on the #DTK tour for phoenix through Detroit. Pat is doing the first thirteen and then Cyndi comes for the rest."

I hope it's classic Pat, I'm not a fan of her new songs.
ReplyDeleteI've seen several Pat shows and it's pretty much all classic and loud as hell rock n roll, gonna be a blast seeing these 2 divas back to back!
