'Woman's World', the new single by singing superstar Cher, has reached number one on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Songs chart - moving up from its number two position last week to become her eighth number one on the chart. And for the fourth consecutive week, it's the chart's "greatest gainer".
The single 'Woman's World' is taken from Cher's upcoming album 'Closer To The Truth' - a predominantly-dance album to be released on 24 September. The album will be her third of the genre, following 1998's 'Believe' and 2001's 'Living Proof' - those two albums plus the 2010 'Burlesque' soundtrack album previously scored Cher seven number ones on the chart ('Believe', 'Strong Enough', 'All or Nothing', 'Song For The Lonely', 'Different Kind of Love Song', 'When The Money's Gone' and 'You Haven't Seen The Last of Me').
Cher's record company Warner Brothers used Twitter to congratulate the 67-year-old icon; "Congratulations to the legendary Cher - 'Woman's World' is number one on Billboard's Dance chart!"
Moving on... Cher took part in a photoshoot very recently for her new album. She tweeted almost a day ago, "I'm dead! Got home from 'Closer To The Thruth' Photoshoot, at 8AM. I started yesterday at 11 AM." Luckily for us, one photo from the shoot has been released; posing with a few guys who helped her look a million dollars, Cher is sporting a black curly wig in the shot.
Cher: 9 N° 1 Dance Club Play! Not 8! :s
ReplyDeleteDaniel you have done such an AMAZING job with this site - you are a GEM!
ReplyDeleteWohooo! I don't get how Billboard works now a days but it's great!
ReplyDeleteBy the way is that Johnny Depp? (would be strange though but looks very much like him..)
ReplyDeleteNo it's not. I thought about trying to find out the three guy's names for the article but didn't care enough to do so lol.
DeleteCould be his unknown twin brother ;-)
DeleteThis is her 8th Number One at Dance/Club Play. Dov'e L hit number one on the Dance SALES chart but missed #1 on the Dance/Club Play chart. Cher always SOLD maxi-singles and 12" big time so she would hit #1 first on the sales chart and stay there for many many weeks. Too bad Warner Bros has not put out WW on physical CD and 12" vinyl. WW would SELL!
ReplyDeletethey just might as VINYLS r becoming popular again!!!
