Is Cher's New Studio Album An Abba Covers Album?

Cher revealed a little over  a week ago that her new album is almost finished: "9 vocals down, 1 to go. [I] will redo some when I’m in London... [I'm] very hard to satisfy".

Due to some of Cher's tweets over the last few weeks, a small number of Cher's 3.6-million Twitter followers have speculated that the 72-year old pop icon is working on an album of Abba covers.

The Academy Award-winner is about to begin a promo campaign for her upcoming appearance in next month's Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again, for which she recorded covers of Abba's Fernando and Super Trouper -- the former a solo performance whilst the latter is believed to be an ensemble effort featuring Cher.

Cher To Appear On UK's The Graham Norton Show This Month

Singing legend Cher will appear on the BBC's The Graham Norton Show later this month.

The singing superstar last appeared on the UK television show back in 2013 to promote her album Closer To The Truth, which stayed three weeks inside the country's Top 10. On the show, she performed its UK lead single I Hope You Find It, which spent three weeks within the Top 40.

The Oscar-winning actress is set to return to the comedy chat show to promote her appearance in next month's movie Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again.

Cher's New Album Almost Finished! Legend Records First Album In 5 Years!

Chart-topping songstress Cher has revealed on social networking site Twitter that she has laid down the vocals to 9 songs of a new album.

About the album, the 'I Hope You Find It' singer tweeted to her 3.6-million followers, "9 vocals down, 1 to go. [I] will redo some when I’m in London... [I'm] very hard to satisfy".

Despite it being 5 years since her last studio collection, Cher has been quick to record this offering, having revealed just last week that she had thus far recorded just four: “[The] songs [are] coming along well, but don't want to jinx it. [I] have worked every night [for] 2-3 [Hours]. Have done 4”.

This promises to be a big year for entertainment legend Cher: her starring role in Mamma Mia 2; a Broadway musical to come out later this year based on her life; and a tour spanning the US and Australia. Cher is more active than ever. But now we also know there’s new Cher music in the works...

On her Twitter account, Cher wrote: “’Im tired & still have to study song 4 tomm.” Publication HORNET reports that when they saw that tweet, they assumed she was referencing her tour or Mamma Mia 2. But then another tweet she sent out indicates it’s something even bigger in the works: new Cher music.

Cher To Guest On The Late Late Show With James Corden In June

Goddess Of Pop Cher is to appear on an episode of The Late Late Show With James Corden in late June.

Late Late Show host James Corden was recently in the U.K. for the Royal Wedding, and he’ll return to his home country next month for a special week of shows that will feature some special musical guests…including Cher.

The Late Late Show with James Corden will air from Central Hall Westminster in London starting Monday, June 18, through Thursday, June 21. Among the other music artists confirmed to join Corden in the U.K. capital are Foo Fighters and One Direction‘s Niall Horan. Actors Cate Blanchett and Orlando Bloom also will be guests on the show.

Sonny & Cher's Final Album To Be Released On CD For The First Time!

Many Cher fans have never heard the likes of 'I Believe in You', 'Rhythm of Your Heart Beat' and 'Listen to the Music' from Sonny & Cher's final studio album 'Mama Was a Rock and Roll Singer, Papa Used to Write All Her Songs' — after all, the LP peaked at just #132 on the US Billboard 200 way back in 1974 and quickly faded away.

The album contains the pair's take on 'I Can See Clearly Now' (originally by Johnny Nash) and 'Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show' (Neil Diamond), both of which the husband-and-wife team performed regularly in their live shows and on the hugely successful 'The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour'. The album also contains Cher's solo hidden gem 'By Love I Mean'.

Cher To Embark On Here We Go Again Tour In September

TimeOut reports: After making a splash headlining this year's 40th anniversary Mardi Gras party, pop icon Cher has announced a full Australian arena tour for September and October this year.

The tour kicks off at Newcastle Entertainment Centre on September 26 and plays Sydney's Qudos Bank Arena on October 18. At this stage there's only one Sydney date announced, but there's plenty of space between the various performances add extra shows.

Touring legend Cher rocked up to her Las Vegas residency 'Classic Cher' in a brand new outfit for opening numbers 'Woman's World' and 'Strong Enough'.

The star donned the gold sparkly Bob Mackie-designed attire to perform the two Billboard Dance Club #1 hits, for which she previously wore a blue costume.

The new outfit replaces the massive black afro from the blue costume for a huge orange curly wig.

Cher Performs Her Mamma Mia 2 Rendition Of Abba's Fernando At CinemaCon!

Hollywood Reporter reports, in the biggest surprise of CinemaCon so far, Cher took the stage to perform ABBA's "Fernando" to promote her upcoming film, Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again!

The sequel to the hit 2008 film Mamma Mia! opens in theaters on July 20.

Cher, dressed in a full glitter pantsuit and matching platform heels, finished the song as balloons dropped from the ceiling inside The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. A small armada of dancers performed a choreographed routine, while Cher appeared on a raise platform from behind fake palm fronds. She received a standing ovation.

Tony nominee Stephanie J. Block (Falsettos) — who previously confirmed her involvement in the show — will star as one incarnation of Cher, joined by Teal Weaks (Wicked, Finding Neverland) and newcomer Micaela Diamond making her Broadway debut.

Singing superstar Cher has extended her Classic Cher residency, adding August and November dates at Las Vegas' Park Theater.

A mail shot is being issued to fans of the Believe singer today, stating:

"Legendary entertainer Cher has added 18 additional Summer and Fall 2017 dates to her extended engagement of CLASSIC CHER at Park Theater at Monte Carlo Resort and Casino in response to her recent triumphant return to the stage. The over-the-top spectacle, which takes fans on a fantastical journey spanning Cher’s multi-decade career in music, film and TV, will return to Las Vegas’ newest live entertainment venue with performances between August 2 – 19 and November 8 – 25.

Music mainstay Cher returned to the stage last night for her Classic Cher residency in Vegas, after having been forced to cancel her last two shows.

The 70-year-old Strong Enough-singer caught the flu and was forced to cancel the February 18 & 19 dates of the residency, stating that she was "heartbroken" to have to do so. She was also forced to reschedule a planned appearance on CBS chat show The Talk.

Cher Cancels 18 February Classic Cher Show: "So So Sorry"

A devastated Cher has been forced to cancel her Classic Cher residency show today (18 February) due to having flu.

The 'Love Hurts' singer took to Twitter yesterday to let her 3.2-million followers know that she was feeling under the weather, and that she was about to head to the doctors.

Upon her return, Cher tweeted to her fans: "Sorry took so long. Had Multiple tests and left phone at home & LA's a mess. Am heartbroken but doctor says flu's too bad. I worked sick Tuesday, but can't pull it today".

Cher's The Talk Appearance Rescheduled For Tuesday 28 February

Moonstruck actress and Believe singer Cher was due to appear on CBS' chat show The Talk today. However, as the Oscar-winning entertainer is sick, her appearance has been rescheduled.

The 70-year-old pop icon will now appear on the CBS show on Tuesday 28 February instead.

The Talk's official Twitter account tweeted: "Legendary 🌟 Timeless ✌️️ Rock Goddess 💋 On Tuesday, February 28th get ONE FULL HOUR of Cher​ only on The Talk! 🎶 #CherTheTalk"

Get Well Cher... PLEASE! Cher Is Sick -- Worries About Cancelling 'Classic Cher' Shows

Music LEGEND Cher has worried fans today, tweeting that she is currently ill, having performed her last concert (February 14) whilst sick.

The ageless chart-topper, whom began her Classic Cher residency on 8 February in Las Vegas, tweeted within the last few hours:

"Valentines Show I did sick, next day, full on flu. Have gone to doctors everyday. Hoping to be able to make shows. I know it would be huge disappointment."
