Updated! Cher To Join Mom Georgia To Promote TV Special and Album
Firstly, Cher announced on micro-blogging site Twitter that her mother, 87-year-old Georgia Holt, is currently under the weather; "Mom isn't feeling well! Pneumonia is hard for a young girl of 87. I spent the afternoon doing press for her TV special - that makes her feel better".
She went on to add, "Sometimes I forget she's fragile! I think of her as tough. All the women in my family are tough, as far back as I can remember! It'a a woman's world".
As well as having her own May 6th television special on Lifetime, Georgia will release a studio album titled 'Honky Tonk Woman' by May 6th. We've known for a while that Cher is to feature on a duet with Georgia on the album - but it wasn't known if she would join her mother on any other tracks on the upcoming release.
Well, I was lucky enough to get a reply from Cher on Twitter after asking her directly, "Will you be on just one track on Georgia's album or more?" She wrote back, "Just one. But the other day, when I was sequencing it, I had to stop and call her and tell her how much I was enjoying it!"
I was even luckier to get another reply from the 66-year-old chart-topper when I asked her, "Will 'Honky Tonk Woman' be mainly covers?" Cher responded, "Mom wrote three. She's a great writer! Thought they were old standards, but I got a call, 'What is the name of your mom's publishing company?' Whoa".
Some of the most exciting news came when Cher revealed that the pair are to promote Georgia's projects together on the likes of 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' and 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno'; with Georgia's health problems on her mind, Cher tweeted,"I'm a little worried, because we have so much work - Ellen, Jay and more. But she'll 'gut it!' She lost weight, I'm jealous! She'll bounce back soon". We hope so - get well Georgia!
Update: Cher went on to post the following photograph of Georgia and herself onto Twitter - it was taken on set of the upcoming television special.
