Many items that previously belonged to Cher are being auctioned by 'Julien's Auctions' as part of their June 23rd 'Sports Legends and Music Icons' lot - among the most notable are a dress that Cher wore as character Laverne during the first ever episode of 'The Cher show', clothes worn in her 1998 music video for 'Believe' and the leather jacket that she struttered around in at age 43 during the music video of her signature hit 'If I Could Turn Back Time'.
The jacket, that was paired with a memorable barely-there body stocking in the the aforementioned music video, bares an autograph from the songstress on the back in silver ink. It has an estimate price of $4,000-$6,000.
A bodystocking and pair of cargo pants that Cher wore in another popular music video, this time the one for her 1998 dance classic 'Believe', are also being auctioned - estimated at $1,500-$2,000.
A Bob Mackie-designed purple, gold and black leopard dress that Cher wore as her character Laverne in the first ever episode of 'The Cher Show' - in a sketch that included Flip Wilson - is estimated at $700-$900.
Other items include jewelry (estimated at a total of $1,100-$2,050), another leather jacket (estimated at $400-$600), an Olive Oyl costume worn during a Popeye sketch on 'The Sonny & Cher Show' ($400-600), a sixties-themed outfit worn during a performance of 'Just You' - also on 'The Sonny & Cher Show' ($800-$1,200) and a school principle outfit worn during a sketch on 'The Cher Show ($500-$700) - all the outfits are designed by Bob Mackie.
It would be a dream to own that jacket... Or anything being sold at that auction.
ReplyDeletewish i could buy it so great that jacket bet it even smells like cher xxxxxxxxx
ReplyDeleteOh wow so cool! Cher's stuff always sell like cupcakes!!! Wish I could have that jacket!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't look like the same jacket. In video, there's no indication of a zipper and the end of the belt is straight (on auction item, the zippers are prominent and the end of the belt is angled.)
ReplyDeleteit's the jacket, the belt was tucked in
DeleteThe promo shot here with Cher is different than the one she wore in the video
Deletelook closely at the video
Wow! how exciting, a true investment for the future owner and bidder. Owning something so historical when it comes down to the video let alone worn by one of the legendary Divas known today. I bet the rest of the outfit is in the pocket.
Deletethe belt is obviously not the same as in the video...
ReplyDeleteFabulous! this fashion jacket.
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with your jacket, gorgeous outfit!
