'Burlesque' Fails To Shine At The Grammy Awards

'Burlesque Soundtrack'Cher and Christina's 'Burlesque' soundtrack album failed to win any Grammy Awards at tonight's event.

The hit soundtrack to the film 'Burlesque', which features songs by legendary songstress Cher and pop princess Christina Aguilera, was nominated for two Grammy Awards at the 2012 ceremony, held tonight.

The album itself was nominated for 'Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media' but was beaten to the title by 'Boardwalk Empire Volume 1: Music from the HBO Original Series', which contains songs from various artists.

Cher's Diane Warren-penned ballad 'You Haven't Seen The Last Of Me', which is featured in both the film and the soundtrack, earned the songwriter a nomination in the category 'Best Song Written for Visual Media'. However, the award went to a tune from the movie 'Tangled'. Diane Warren had a second song nominated in the same category, performed by teen idol Justin Bieber.

Cher was not present at the ceremony.
