Adam Lambert beat one of his idols, Cher, to win "Must Follow Artist on Twitter" at the 'O Music Awards'.
Superstar Cher was one of seven artists nominated for the "Must Follow On Twitter" award at MTV's 'O Music Awards' last night. Five of the nominees were male; Adam Lambert, Blake Shelton, Justin Bieber, Mark Hoppus and Snoop Dogg. Lady Gaga, who will appear on Cher's upcoming single, was the only other female nominated.
Unfortunately, a modest voting campaign by some of Cher's most-loyal fans, which mostly took place on Twitter, did not result in Cher receiving the award. Singer Adam Lambert, a Cher fan who performed 'Believe' when he was a contestant on 'American Idol', received the most votes and was therefore declared the winner.
Lambert however, does have an advantage over the 65-year-old music legend. The 'American Idol' runner-up has 800,000 more Twitter followers than Cher, who's presence on the social networking website is still largely unknown.
OMG!! Cher sooo should've won that award! :) xx
