Acute Viral Infection Forces Cher To Postpone Tour Dates

Cher
Singing legend Cher has been forced to postpone two upcoming tour dates after being diagnosed with "acute viral infection".

The chart-topping songstress planned to resume her highly-successful 'Dressed To Kill Tour' on 11 September, after having a two-month break. However, the 'Love & Understanding' singer has been forced to extend her break as she has been diagnosed with acute viral infection and has been ordered by doctors to rest.

A spokesperson said, "Cher was diagnosed over the weekend with what the doctors termed 'acute viral infection' and has been required to be on full bed rest for several days."

'Virology Blog' explains that "An acute viral infection is characterized by rapid onset of disease, a relatively brief period of symptoms, and resolution within days"

The bed-ridden star will instead resume the tour on 15 September, meaning that the 11 September (Albany, New York) and 13 September (Manchester, New Hampshire) dates of the it have been postponed to 6 and 7 October, respectively.

"Fans can keep their tickets for the rescheduled dates or get a refund if unable to attend", reports the 'MailOnline' - whom dubbed Cher as "One of the hardest working women in showbusiness."

The star will sport multiple new outfits when the tour resumes. And the singer has hinted to fans that they can expect a new song added to its set-list.
