The British Phonogprapic Industry (BPI) has certified Cher's and Christina Aguilera's 'Burlesque' soundtrack album Silver for sales or shipments of 60,000 within the UK.
Today, the BPI's website was updated with its latest certifications (dated 08 August) and among the titles was the 2010 'Original Soundtrack - Burlesque' with a Silver certification. The album features tracks by Grammy Award-winning songstress' Cher and Christina Aguilera - including the former's Golden Globe Award-winning 'You Haven't Seen The Last Of Me'.
It, of course, served as the soundtrack album to the female entertainers' 2010 film 'Burlesque'. Both of the album's tracks by Cher - the aforementioned ballad and 'Welcome To Burlesque' are featured on Cher's current North American 'Dressed To Kill Tour'.
The album, which reached #18 in the US and was certified Gold there, was a moderate success on the UK's Official Compilations Chart - reaching #27 and spending 9 weeks within the Top 40. However, its fresh certification means that it has sold or shipped 60,000 copies across the country.
In total, the soundtrack album has sold over one-million copies worldwide.
Just last week, Cher's 1998 single 'Believe' became BPI's first ever Triple-Platinum female single.
