It has been reported that Cher will perform at the 1 June grand opening of recently-reconstructed Russian football/soccer stadium, Anji Arena.
Cher did a one-off gig in Russia late last year, and it seems that the international superstar wants to go back to do another. A bunch of Russian news publications have reported that Cher will be the headline act of a "Grand 3D show" at the 1 June opening of the recently-reconstructed stadium Anji Arena in Dagestan, Russia.
The grand opening, which falls on Children's day in Russia, and which will see profits go to charity, will showcase more-local supporting acts Nikolai Baskov, Nani Bregvadze and Lyme Vajkule.
One spokesperson for the event stated that, "15,000 viewers wearing special glasses, will be able to see a 3D broadcast of what is happening on the screen, the size of 18 by 42 meters."
Anji Arena, formerly known as Khazar Stadium, is the new home ground of Russian football club FC Anji Makhachkala, who were purchased by billionaire Suleyman Kerimov in 2011.
Suleyman Kerimov is that same oligarkh that invited Cher last year.
