Kim Kardashian Slams "RIP Cher" Hoaxsters For "Sick Joke"
Reality television star Kim Kardashian branded the recent Twitter Cher death hoax as a "sick joke" from people that "need to get a life".
As the term "RIP Cher" became a trending topic on Twitter, 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star Kim Kardashian may have accidentally helped to spread the rumour even further. However, she soon expressed her distaste at the hoax once she discovered the truth.
It was unclear as to whether Kim believed the rumour or not at first as sometime during the "RIP Cher" incident, she tweeted, "Did I just hear that Cher has passed away? Is this real? OMG."
If any of her 12 million followers hadn't yet taken notice of the trending topic, they probably would've at that point.
Kim was still unsure when she followed her initial tweet with another; she wrote, "I hope this is a twitter joke and not true. I don't see it on the news anywhere." The puzzled star was obviously concerned for Hollywood legend Cher as she continued, "I'm praying it's not true."
Twitter users then swarmed Kim with tweets informing her that Cher is alive and well.
Once realising the truth, Kim concluded, "I can't believe people would make up a sick joke like Cher died. These people need to get a life!"
Cher and fellow Armenian-American Kim Kardashian have been linked in the press numerous times; the two of them made columns late last year for apparently being in a Twitter feud despite it being nonsense; and Kim's fashion style has repeatedly been remarked on in various media outlets as being similar to past styles from alternative fashion icon Cher.
